Jennifer Givhan

Jennifer Givhan, a Mexican-American poet, is the author of Landscape with Headless Mama (Louisiana State University Press, 2016), winner of the Pleiades Editors’ Prize; Protection Spell (University of Arkansas Press, 2017), winner of the Miller Williams Poetry Prize; and Girl with Death Mask (Indiana University Press, forthcoming 2018), winner of the Blue Light Books Prize. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Ploughshares, Poetry, AGNI, Boston Review, Blackbird, The Best New Poets, and elsewhere. Her honors include a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Poetry and a PEN/Rosenthal Emerging Voices Fellowship. She is editor-in-chief of Tinderbox Poetry Journal and lives with her family in New Mexico. (updated 10/2017)
