Douglas Penick

Douglas Penick has written libretti for two operas, received a grant from the Witter Bynner Foundation for his poetry, and written on commission for the New York Philharmonic and for music by Philip Glass and others. He has written three full-length renditions of episodes from the Gesar of Ling cycle, and his novel about the third Ming emperor, A Journey of the North Star, was released by Publerati in 2011. He is married to Deborah Marshall. (updated 4/2013)
