Members of WARA are part of the international community of scholars committed to advancing research in and about West Africa. Established in 1989, WARA realizes its mission through organizing conferences and seminars, hosting summer faculty institutes, granting research fellowships, and maintaining a spacious and well-equipped research center in Dakar Senegal. As a member, you are eligible to participate in the activities of the WARA, to receive first-hand information about WARA grants and fellowships, and make use of the facilities of the West African Research Center (WARC) in Dakar, Senegal. In addition, you will receive the WARA newsletter.

You may take out a membership for one year, for two years ($60), five years ($150), or a lifetime membership ($350). Institutions may become members of WARA for just $250 per year.
