International Journal of African Historical Studies
To
Submit an Article
We welcome article
submissions in English on all aspects of African history that
focus on the history of African communities through time,
in Africa or elsewhere. Articles that highlight European administrators
or colonial policies are best placed elsewhere, unless they
deal substantially with the interactions of these administrators
with (or the affect of these policies on) African societies.
All manuscripts submitted for consideration will be circulated
to outside readers.
We do not require
that submitted articles conform to our style sheet for the
purposes of evaluation. Should an article be accepted for
publication in IJAHS, however, it will be the authors
responsibility at that point to make whatever revisions are
necessary to conform to the IJAHS
style sheet.
Three copies of
any proposed article, printed double-spaced and on one side
of the page only, should be submitted to Michael DiBlasi, IJAHS Editor, Boston University, African Studies Center, 270 Bay State Road,
Boston MA 02215. A letter should be enclosed requesting that
the article be considered for publication in IJAHS, along
with assurance that it is not currently under review elsewhere.
We recommend an
initial query to the editor (e-mail: mdib@bu.edu)
about whether a paper on a particular subject, based on evidence
from certain kinds of sources, would be suitable for IJAHS.
This might well save you time and effort if your article does
not fit the journals focus.
