At this event, leaders from three of these groups – Pardee Center, Initiative on Cities, and Institute for Sustainable Energy – will discuss their units’ missions, structure, and available resources, as well as the exciting projects made possible through interdisciplinary collaboration. Attend to meet new colleagues, find research collaborators, and learn about the benefits of becoming affiliated with a University-level research center. The Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future conducts interdisciplinary and policy-relevant research on a wide range of issues that contribute to long-term improvements in the human condition. Through its research, education, and outreach, the Center works to ensure that decisions made today lead to better outcomes tomorrow. Founded by the late former Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Professor Wilson, the Initiative on Cities promotes and advances the adaptive urban leadership strategies necessary to support cities as dynamic centers of economic growth and development in the 21st century. A new generation of “think and do tanks,” the Institute for Sustainable Energy harnesses world-class research and education resources and engages with outside stakeholders to contribute to important global economic, social, and technological challenges related to sustainable energy.
