Dr Hammond has been conducting research on conflict, food security, migration and diasporas in and from the Horn of Africa since the early 1990s. Laura will explore US/UK Policy in Somalia and the Horn of Africa, focusing on the highly securitized response to perceived terrorist threats and the impact that is likely to have on humanitarian activities.
