"Counterterrorist Strategy and Humanitarian Action: Uncomfortable Relations in the Horn of Africa" Laura Hammond (SOAS Univ of London)

Dr Hammond has been conducting research on conflict, food security, migration and diasporas in and from the Horn of Africa since the early 1990s. Laura will explore US/UK Policy in Somalia and the Horn of Africa, focusing on the highly securitized response to perceived terrorist threats and the impact that is likely to have on humanitarian activities.
