African Union Ambassador’s Upcoming Visit

Dear Boston University African Studies Center Community,

We would like to invite you to join us for a class visit and discussion at the BU African Studies Center featuring the African Union Ambassador to the US, Honorable Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao, on Thursday, September 6, 3:30–4:45 pm. The discussion focuses on forging productive partnerships among the African diaspora, the academic community, and the African Union. The African Union is an intergovernmental organization that seeks to achieve greater unity and solidarity among African countries and Africans, as well as encourage international cooperation and popular participation in governance. In its recent joint initiatives with the ASC, the African Union has focused on facilitating innovative networking and communication platforms for diaspora involvement in Africa’s development. With Ambassador Chihombori-Quao, we will discuss current and past collaborations among these communities and imagine a rich future of new and renewed partnerships. The event takes place at 232 Bay State Road, 5th floor, room 505.

Please RSVP to Daivi Rodima-Taylor of the ASC Diaspora Studies Initiative at, as space is limited.
