On Martin Luther King Jr. day (Monday January 19th) at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Trio Ardente (Trumpet, Piano, Viola) is performing the world premier of Boston composer, Robert Bradshaw’s “One-Way Ticket” which is a powerful conglomeration of different art mediums.

This four movement work is paired with 4 paintings from Jacob Lawrence’s “The Migration Series” along with a narrated Langston Hughes poem “One-Way Ticket” which was inspired by the paintings. Bradshaw captures these two powerful works of art beautifully in his piece that explores the African American “Great Migration” from the South to the rest of America.

This is a free concert held at the MFA in Remis Auditorium with two performances that day at 11 am and 2 pm.

There is more information about the event here and if you are interested in having a look at the score, click here. It includes the poem and art work!

Hope to see you there and make sure you spread the word on Facebook, Twitter and amongst your family & friends!
