Emergency BU Alert Boston University’s Charles River and Medical Center Campuses will be closed Tuesday, January 27th for the entire day. All normal academic and administrative activities (e.g. classes, seminars and meetings) that are scheduled to take place are cancelled. When classes resume, they will resume on the regular class schedule. Whether or how classes are to be made up is at the discretion of the faculty member. Snow Closings: BU Admissions will close should the University close for inclement weather. On the day of your visit, please check the BU website or call BU’s emergency closing line at 617-353-SNOW (617-353-7669) if a storm is predicted.

Reservations and advance notice are required for some programs. BU Admissions is located at the Alan and Sherry Leventhal Center at 233 Bay State Road. Once you schedule your visit, see Directions & Maps for how to get here and where to park. Please plan to arrive and check in 15 minutes before your campus visit is scheduled to begin.

Visitor Programs for Students and Families

Campus Visits – Information Session & Campus Tour (2 hours)

Your visit will begin with a presentation where you will learn about BU’s dynamic academic and social community from a variety of perspectives. You will learn what makes an application competitive for admission and have an opportunity to have all your questions answered. You will then proceed on a walking tour of campus* where you’ll see everything from the student union to the BU “Beach.” Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. Sign up online.

*As our tours are given by current students, they will not be available during certain times of the year – Spring Break in March, May, early September, and during Winter break. Please check the registration calendar to determine if a tour will be offered on the day of your visit.

Visit a School or College

All ten of our undergraduate schools and colleges offer tours of their facilities. Please make arrangements by contacting the school or college directly.

Laboratory Science Tours

Interested in seeing our laboratory facilities? This is a student led tour of three labs used by Boston University undergraduates. Guests will visit Chemistry, Biology, and Marine Science labs. This tour is offered on select Fridays from September through December. Sign up online.

Congratulations on being admitted to Boston University! We have special events, including Open House and Orientation programs, designed just for you.

Extended Campus Visits (3 hours)

Have you already been to campus and want to see even more? We’ll give you a preview of what it’s like to be a BU student during our extended campus tour. You and your family will attend an information session, followed by a 1.5 hour tour of the full campus, including the Fitness and Recreation Center, and have lunch in the West Campus Dining Hall. This program is available on most Mondays and Fridays in September through November. Space is limited for this program. To request this visit, please fill out our form.
