Diversity at BU

Monique Atkinson, speaking in the video above, decided to attend Multicultural Community Weekend because she wanted to learn about how diversity impacts BU’s students. She was also excited to see programming designed with underrepresented students in mind.

Diversity can have many meanings, covering topics including geography, religion, race, ethnicity, culture, and academics. But the good news is that BU’s community has it all. In fact, we’re one of the most diverse research universities in the country with students coming from all 50 U.S. states, more than 100 countries, and a myriad of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

We’d encourage you to take a moment to meet our Admissions Student Diversity Board (ASDB), a talented group of students who work year-round to promote diversity on campus. And start getting familiar with The Howard Thurman Center, a campus resource that connects students from diverse social networks.
