At the Boston University School of Education (SED), you will receive a liberal education that will provide the foundation for your professional studies and your teaching career. To be a teacher you must learn how to teach, as well as what to teach. But method is not something apart from content. At Boston University you will learn how to teach math, reading, history, and other subjects from master teachers: teachers who are immersed in their subjects and experienced in the classroom.

As one of the foremost innovators in education and educational reform in the country, SED provides students with comprehensive teacher preparation. Students can expect to receive hands-on experience as early as their freshman year. SED offers majors in bilingual education; deaf studies; early childhood and elementary education; special education; human movement; and English, history and social sciences, science, math, and modern foreign languages education.
