Each year, Boston University admits a limited number of visiting students who wish to spend one semester or year at the University's College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) or School of Management (SMG). Visiting
students are admitted to the University with approval from the Office of Admissions. Though entering the
University as non-matriculating students, visiting students may live in University residences (if accommodations are available) and take advantage of a wide range of extracurricular opportunities. Visiting students are expected to enroll in four courses each semester.
We welcome applications from students with strong academic records who are enrolled at other regionally
accredited colleges or universities. Students holding a bachelor's degree received within the last three years
are also welcome to apply. These applicants will be admitted based on the availability of courses, and
priority will be given to those applicants whose proposed coursework demonstrates a defined
scholastic or professional objective.
Please note: attendance in either the College of Arts and Sciences or the School of Management as a visiting student does not in any way imply or guarantee admission as a matriculated student in a degree program at a later date.
