Scholarships for Transfer Students

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship Award

Boston University awards two-year, $20,000 tuition scholarships to selected transfer students who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and are nominated by their chapter advisor. Students competitive for this award are outstanding leaders who have demonstrated academic excellence. Recipients must enroll as juniors at Boston University with a minimum of 60 transferable credits. This scholarship is only available to US citizens or permanent US residents applying for the September term.

Bunker Hill Community College Scholarship Award

Boston University awards full-tuition scholarships to selected transfer students from Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) who have been nominated by the college. Students competing for this award must have a minimum 3.5 GPA at BHCC and be graduates of one of the Boston public high schools. Recipients must enroll as juniors at Boston University with a minimum of 60 transferable credits. This scholarship is only available to US citizens or permanent US residents applying for the September term.

Nominations must be submitted to Boston University no later than March 1.

Massachusetts Bay Community College Scholarship Award

Boston University awards full-tuition scholarships to selected transfer students from Massachusetts Bay Community College (MBCC) who have been nominated by the college. Students competing for this award must have a minimum 3.5 GPA at MBCC and be graduates of one of the Boston public high schools. Recipients must enroll as juniors at Boston University with a minimum of 60 transferable credits. This scholarship is only available to US citizens or permanent US residents applying for the September term.

Roxbury Community College Scholarship Award

Boston University awards full-tuition scholarships to selected transfer students from Roxbury Community College (RCC) who have been nominated by the college. Students competitive for this award must have a minimum 3.5 GPA at RCC. Recipients must enroll as juniors at Boston University with a minimum of 60 transferable credits. This scholarship is only available to US citizens or permanent US residents applying for the September term.

Names of nominees must be submitted to Boston University no later than March 1.

BU Community Service Award for Transfer Students

Boston University is proud to announce the extension of the BU Community Service Awards to include students who transfer to the University. The BU Community Service Award is a unique program for graduates of Boston Public Schools. Previously only for first-time students, this program meets the full calculated financial need of students without loans. With this expansion, all graduates of Boston public high schools have an opportunity to graduate from Boston University without debt. Students in the program are provided with a University faculty or staff mentor and engage in the greater Boston community by participating in community service opportunities.
