Military Programs

Boston University is one of only a handful of universities nationwide offering Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) programs in all four branches of the armed services: Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.

The Division of Military Education is a program that prepares college-trained officers for the United States Armed Forces. It’s traditionally a four-year program of instruction, culminating in a commission in the Air Force, Army, Marine Corps or Navy. Besides military training, students leave BU with a bachelor’s degree from their undergraduate school or college.

Today’s ROTC programs offer students hands-on leadership training unlike any other college program. These programs build strong bonds of team spirit and camaraderie while they boost self-confidence. ROTC training develops self-discipline, physical stamina, poise and general management skills basic to success in any career.

Students who are interested in ROTC programs should discuss the options, requirements and application process with their guidance/college counselors.
