Amman Folklore Museum (for Jewelry and Costumes) located in the west vaults of the Roman Theater, Downtown Amman. Jordan Museum of Popular Traditions (for Jordanian costumes, jewelry, rugs and everyday utensils and implements) located in the east vaults of the Roman Theater, Downtown Amman. Jordan Crafts Center (for exhibits and sales of traditional and authentic Jordanian crafts, including: embroidery, woodwork, glass, leather, woven rugs, sheepskins, ceramics, mother-of-pearl objects, jewelry, brass and silver) located on a small side street off the Second Circle of Jabal Amman, behind the Lebanese Embassy. Jordan National Gallery (for a permanent collection of Contemporary Art and Ceramics from Jordan and the Arab and Islamic World) located on Jabal Weibdeh, next to the Public Gardens. Martyrs' Monument and Military Museum (for a permanent exhibition of Jordan's military history) located on a hill overlooking Hussein Sports City. The very well presented displays of the recent (100 years) military history of Jordan is well worth the visit to the museum. The memorial to those who died in support of the kingdom is located on the upper level, but can be viewed only through the glass doors. Madaba Museum (for archaeology and folklore). Closed Tuesday.
