Maps Maps are not a common thing in the Arab world. Major hotel newsstands carry what there is in tourist maps. ACOR suggests that you bring your own maps of the tourist variety. The ACOR library has an extensive reference collection of maps. These maps are of 1:50,000 and 1:25,000. There are areas of the country for which maps are not available. These maps are for reference only and may not be taken out of the library. Topographical maps can be purchased from the Royal Geographic Centre. You will need a letter of introduction from ACOR and in some cases the maps may not be taken out of the country. Copyright © 2000 American Center of
