HOUSE RULES
ACOR House Rules are not arbitrary
measures. They are in effect, a summary of Jordanian and U.S. laws. You are a
guest in Jordan and Jordanian laws apply to residents of ACOR. As ACOR is a U.S.
corporation, U.S. regulations apply to ACOR residents also. Note that the " House
Rules " noted below are in accordance with the laws and customs of both countries. As
a resident, compliance is expected and violations may result in loss of ACOR residency
priveleges. In cases of violation of Jordanian laws are violated and where local law
officials are involved, the ACOR Director may request a resident to depart from the
facilites.
Harassment of fellow residents, guests, or
visitors for any reason is prohibited.
ACOR is a drug free environment in
accordance with Jordanian law which is stricter than U.S. drug laws. ACOR Policy is ZERO
TOLERANCE.
A "quiet" time from 11:00 PM until
8:00 AM is observed each night.
Smoking at ACOR is not permitted in the
Library, Periodical Room, Conservation Lab, Photo Lab, Computer Room, Residents' Lounge,
or at the dining tables, during mealtimes. Otherwise smoking is permitted throughout the
rest of ACOR.
Visitors are not allowed in the hostel
areas. Use of the common areas is for this purpose.
Jordanian law views cohabitation of unmaried
M/F) couples as illegal.
Antiquities:
Possession/purchase/sale/trading in antiquities is illegal under Jordanian law.
