Communal Life at ACOR

The ACOR lifestyle is relaxed. The setting is communal and there are many shared and common areas within the facility requiring some compromise among the lifestyles of the residents to maintain the quality of life.

The kitchen, dining area, library, kitchenette, lounge, exercise area, etc., are all common spaces requiring cooperation in utilizing the spaces. All these areas require the residents to clean all areas they utilize and maintain the facilities to the highest standards. The houskeeping staff is limited and cannot clean these common areas daily.

There are few rules, but see the House Rules Section for guidance on common space use.

The living room is the reception area for guests and also the lower lounge area during the evening hours. It is common use space. Visitors, Jordanians and others, also enter the building and are provided their first impression of ACOR and ACOR residents. Therefore please use this space, but use it wisely.

Residents are encouraged to study in their rooms and/or in the library rather than in the common rooms.

Quiet hours are from 2300 (11 PM) to 0800 (8:00 AM). Noise is to be kept to a minimum between these hours.

Only residents only are permitted in the living areas, including the apartments. Permissions and exceptions are sometimes made for special requirements. Visitors are generally kept on the first floor and lower library area. This is primarily due to the need for security in the building.
