EXCAVATIONS IN JORDAN - 1999

Below is the list of excavation projects in Jordan that provided information to date. This list is constantly being updated and excavations are being added to the list, through February, 1999.

The purpose of this list is to provide information and contact links to the excavation directors. This list of excavations is provided as a compilation of activities planned for the 1999 excavation season in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Information is correct as of lising on this page, but is subject to change. It is provided as a courtesy to those requesting information on excavations and/or those looking for excavation work. This list does not include every excavation on going this summer. It is a list only of those excavations which provided information in response to inquiries. The listing is noted in order of receipt of the information.

It should be noted that some excavations do not take volunteers and are listed as a courtesy. Contact the excavation director regarding positions on the excavations (If noted as closed, do not contact the excavation directors for this year). All positions are coordinated directly with the excavation director. ACOR does not fill any positions on the excavations. Positions are generally filled prior to mid February with the security forms submitted to the Department of Antiquities prior to 1 April of each year. Note that any quoted airfares are estimates of anticipated summer group rates. Contact excavation directors as soon as possible, even before the summer prior to anticipated work, to discuss your participation the following year.

Excavation directors are encouraged to provide updates, changes or additional information at any time.
