All references to
"airport" refer to Queen Alia International
Airport, unless specifically noted to refer to the
"Marka" airport.
Confirmation of all
tickets on all flights is required three days in
advance, and it is also good to follow up on this
daily before departure. Also, re-reconfirmation is
advised one day in advance. The Royal Jordanian
Airlines (RJ) main office is located in Shmeisani
in the Housing Bank Commercial Center. Branch
offices are located in the Intercontinental Hotel
(Jabal Amman, 3rd Circle), and near 7th Circle.
Most other airline agents are located on King
Hussein Street, downtown.
To get to the
airport from ACOR, you can either take a taxi or
the airport bus from Abdali for 500 fils (every
half hour). A taxi will cost approximately JD 10 to
JD 15.000 - negotiate the fare before you start.
For RJ flights you can check in at the city
terminal near 7th Circle. You can check your
luggage and get a seat up to 24 hours in advance.
The bus to the airport is 1 JD. This service is
available from about 8 am to 10 pm. This service is
changing, so call to check in advance for the hours
of operation. This service is only one-way, to the
airport.
Airport tax must be
paid by all international passengers departing
Jordan from Queen Alia International Airport.
Non-Jordanian passport holders pay 10 JD per
passport. Persons on domestic flights are not
subject to departure tax.
