Life at the Academy is exciting but challenging. Academy Transitions, a week-long program designed to strengthen certain academic skills, gives students matriculating to BUA every opportunity to succeed. Some students may be required to enroll in Academy Transitions; others may choose to do so.

I am so happy I attended Academy Transitions before my freshman year. I not only practiced writing effective topic sentences and learned about multiple intelligences but also made some great new friends!

Incoming students who attend Academy Transitions participate in either or both of the following courses:

  • Writing & Study Skills, a review of the elements of good prose and argumentation combined with a crash-course in proper note-taking and study habits;
  • Math for Physics, a study of the mathematics necessary to succeed in freshman Physics.
