Environmental Club

Junior Classical League
The Junior Classical League is a national organization with a two-fold purpose: First, to encourage an interest in and an appreciation of the language, literature, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome and second, to impart an understanding of the debt of our own culture to that of Classical antiquity. We hope to re-invigorate the BUA participation in this organization.
Literary Magazine and Café
This organization is for students who want to write, publish and publicly read their own fiction, poetry and drama, or who want to edit and support the work of others. Literary Magazine also publishes artwork. Students function as members of an editorial collective that solicits and selects works from their peers and prepare them for publication, which comes out once a semester. Lit Café is a night of readings, music, and food which celebrates student literary creativity at the Academy.
Math Club
Math Club gives students the opportunity to discuss a given topic of mathematical interest. Members also attend monthly lectures In coordination with the Mathematical Association of America chapter at BU. The club will also be a channel for national contests to be administered.
Model United Nations
BUA MUN is one of the Academy most popular clubs. Model UN strives to create a simulation of the United Nations which is as realistic as possible, while still allowing for the fulfillment of the educational goals of our participants. In this, we continually seek to find new information about the UN, its member states and the topics discussed, and to include this information in the simulations at every opportunity.
Opera Club
The Opera Club sponsors outings to fully staged operas in Boston. The members of the club choose which performances they will attend and then meet weekly to learn the story, listen to the music, watch filmed versions, compare various singers’ interpretations, and study a little about the composer and opera in general. No previous experience with opera or classical music is necessary.
Peer Advisors
Students in grades 10-12 may be nominated by their teachers or classmates to serve as Peer Advisors. The group enhances school culture by positive example. Peer Advisors sponsor Back-to-School Breakfast during Orientation, Movie Night, and Culture Breakfast.
Peer Tutors
Students who have developed proficiency in a subject area may be invited to serve as tutors. Peer Tutors assist other Academy students with course material, helping them to master concepts, complete homework, and identify what questions to ask.
Robotics Team
Another popular among the BUA students. Members of Overclocked (Team 246) design and build a robot to play a game in the annual FIRST Robotics engineering competition.
