Counseling

School Counseling Mission:

The school counseling model at Boston University Academy is developmental in nature, supporting the cognitive, psychosocial, and academic needs of all students at the Academy. The goal of the program is to foster the healthy development of mind, body, and spirit of all students. The counseling program is designed as proactive and developmental rather than as reactive or clinical.  As a result, the counselor is easily accessible to all students.

Preventative aspects of the program include student discussion groups, individual counseling, assistance with transition, and new student adjustment. The collaborative piece of the program involves outreach to community resources and ongoing communication with parents and faculty.
