A Strong Finish for BUA Runners
The BU Academy Cross Country team had a great outcome at the Mass. Bay League Championships on Nov. 4 at Gann Academy.
BUA came in 3rd place overall in a field of seven schools. Among the team members that had personal bests, as well as finishes that earned them league recognition were Emily Clancy ‘12 and Toby Kilroy ‘10.
Emily finished with a time of 20:28, which was third best overall for female runners at the Championships, and this time now stands as the Academy record for our female runners.
Toby finished with a time of 18:25, which was third best overall for the male runners, and this time will also be a new Academy record for all to aspire to in the future. Toby was also voted to be a member of the All-League team as a result of the times he ran throughout the season in MBIL races.
As mentioned before, BUA’s third place finish is a result of strong performances by all team members. The runners that helped complete these accomplishment are : Charlie Alex-Barton ‘12, Danny Housley ‘10, McKenzie Raycroft ‘13, Daniel Lee ‘10, Jon Chau ‘10, Lindsay Silver ‘11, Jackie Oh ‘11, and Rohin Ohri ‘11.
