A discussion seminar taken in conjunction with the History of War (HI284). A study of the US Navy from the American Revolution to the modern era. Traces the US Navy's rise from a coastal defense force into the world's premier naval power. Major themes include wars, events, people, technology, strategy, tactics and diplomacy that shaped naval history and America's role in the world. FALL Semester.
