Environmental Health: MPH

The Master of Public Health program with a concentration in Environmental Health (EH) prepares students to move into the front lines of public health. The curriculum first provides a firm grounding in environmental health science and policy, and then allows students to tailor coursework to their interests in environmental epidemiology; environmental exposure and risk assessment; global ecology, environmental sustainability, and health; or community-based environmental health and justice. A final academic project and hands-on experience in a work setting complete the MPH concentration in Environmental Health. Our MPH graduates with the Environmental Health concentration work today as directors and analysts of public health or environmental health for cities and towns, as program managers, health educators, and environmental inspectors in state and federal health agencies, and in many roles in nonprofit agencies. Other alumni hold research positions in public and private health research organizations, work as consultants in private companies conducting health risk assessments, or are physicians in occupational and environmental clinics.
