Cognitive & Neural Systems

The Graduate Program in Cognitive & Neural Systems (CNS) provides advanced training and research experience for graduate students and qualified undergraduates interested in the neural and computational principles, mechanisms, and architectures that underlie human and animal behavior, and the application of neural network architectures to the solution of technological problems.

The Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (GRS) Graduate Program in Cognitive & Neural Systems is no longer admitting students. Students interested in a PhD in Computational Neuroscience are directed to BU’s Division of Graduate Medical Sciences (GMS) Graduate Program for Neuroscience.

Degree requirements for currently enrolled, continuing GRS Cognitive & Neural Systems students can be referenced at the MA in Cognitive & Neural Systems and PhD in Cognitive & Neural Systems portions of the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences Bulletin.

For updated information, contact Professor Daniel Bullock, program director, or Carol Jefferson, the program’s administrative manager.
