Academic Degree Programs

General Studies

The College of General Studies offers a two-year, general education core curriculum. The extensive core curriculum is both interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary and taught solely by full-time Boston University faculty dedicated to teaching as well as scholarship.

All CGS freshmen are accepted as four-year bachelor's degree candidates, who, upon completion of the core program and elective courses outside of CGS, continue to their choice of any of the liberal arts and professional degree programs in Boston University's other undergraduate Schools and Colleges. CGS freshmen are the second largest incoming class to Boston University's eleven undergraduate Schools and Colleges.
