College of Communication Policy

Students currently enrolled at Boston University must fulfill the following requirements in order to successfully complete an Intra-University Transfer (IUT) to COM:

• Complete COM CO 101 with a C or higher and have a 2.0 or higher overall GPA.

All IUT candidates must be in good academic standing. Students cannot transfer until the minimum grade in CO 101 is met. There is no official deadline to IUT to COM, though students should take note that all requirements toward the COM degree must still be met in order to graduate, so transferring to COM as soon as academically possible is strongly recommended.

Please note: COM CO 101 is one of the largest classes at Boston University, but its enrollment limit is often reached. If you have trouble registering for COM CO 101, please contact COM Undergraduate Affairs at comugrad@bu.edu or 617-353-3471.
