Examinations

University Policy

College of General Studies Policy

Students are expected to adhere to appropriate standards of conduct while in the examination room. Proper conduct includes:

  • Punctual arrival
  • Exclusion of books, notes, and electronic devices from view, unless authorized
  • No exchange of information among students during the examination
  • No disclosure of information to students who have not yet sat for the examination
  • Sitting in the assigned examination seat, if applicable

Students are responsible for bringing appropriate writing implements, and—if authorized—calculators and rulers, to the examination.

Special Testing Conditions

Special testing accommodations will be extended only to those students for whom it is recommended by the Disability Services office at Boston University.

Making Up an Exam

A student may take a divisional make-up examination only if the student requests and receives permission from the Dean or the appropriate division chair. The request must be in writing and submitted within 24 hours of the originally scheduled examination.
