Minor in Film & Television

The minor in film & television encompasses focus areas in:

• Film & Television Studies
• Management
• Production
• Writing

Prerequisite: Completion of COM CO 201, Introduction to Communication Writing, with a grade of C or better, before declaring the minor.

Students must maintain a GPA of 2.0 in all courses taken toward the COM minor. Students must have the Department of Film & Television sign off on the COM Minor Form after the prerequisite course is completed.

Required Courses

Six required courses (not including COM CO 201):

• Two required courses:
  • COM FT 310 Storytelling for Film & Television
  • COM FT 303 Understanding Television or COM FT 360 Understanding Film
• Four 4-credit COM FT courses at the 300 level or higher

Students should note any prerequisites when registering for classes.

Please note: Production and lottery courses may not be available to minors.
