Declaring or Changing a Major or Minor
College of Arts & Sciences Policy
To ensure that each student is well advised in electing a major (or minor) or in changing from one major (or minor) to another, and to ensure that all faculty and administrative offices concerned are properly informed, it is important that students file a Declaration or Change of Major/Minor Form through CAS Academic Advising.
All students must declare a major before registering for the junior year. Students making application to the independent major program are encouraged to do so well before official registration periods.
Although a minor is not required, students who wish to elect a minor must file a CAS Declaration or Change of Major/Minor Form with CAS Academic Advising at 100 Bay State Road on the fourth floor.
