Review of neurophysiological mechanisms underlying the astounding reorganizational capacity of the brain. Critical examination of ways to promote this plasticity: early childhood experiences, positive thinking, meditation, exercise, visualization, physical therapy, computerized re-training, and sensory and motor prostheses.
