Gilman Scholarship Program Spring 2013

Application Deadline: October 2, 2012

The Gilman International Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, announces that the online application system is now open for students participating in study abroad programs during the spring 2013 term. Spring 2013 online applications are due October 2, 2012, by 11:59pm CST.

For students applying for any academic term (academic year, fall, spring, or summer), the eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • Enrolled as an undergraduate student at a two- or four-year U.S. institution
  • United States citizen
  • Receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application or during the term of study abroad
  • Participating in a study abroad program that is no less than 4 weeks (28 days) in one country and no more than one academic year
  • Receiving academic credit
  • Study in any country not currently under a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning or Cuba

Scholarship: Summer Institute at Seoul National University

Seoul National University is offering one scholarship for a Boston University student to enroll in their five-week summer institute. The institute is taught entirely in English, and students can enroll in a variety of courses, from Korean language to society and politics, to security issues in East Asia. The institute runs from June 27 to July 29, and the scholarship includes application fees, tuition, and dormitory expenses. It does not cover airfare, books or field trip expenses.
