Fall Semester: Early September to mid-December
Spring Semester: Mid-January to early May
Summer Los Angeles Internship Program

The Los Angeles Internship Program
offers students a semester of study and work in the heart of the film, television, advertising and public relations, and entertainment management and law industries.

The program offers three tracks from which undergraduate and graduate students can choose: Advertising and Public Relations, Film and Television, and Entertainment Management. Graduated students have the opportunity to continue their education by enrolling in the Los Angeles Certificate Program, where students can choose either the Acting in Hollywood or the Writer in Hollywood track. Courses are taught by Boston University faculty and alumni who serve as mentors in and out of the classroom. Upon successful completion of the Los Angeles Internship Program, students will earn 16 Boston University credits. Students who successfully complete the Los Angeles Certificate Program will receive eight Boston University credits and a certificate from Boston University College of Fine Arts or College of Communication.

In each track, students take three courses concurrently with their internship. Students typically work at two internships for a minimum of 20 hours per week, in some cases, up to 40 hours per week, and continue to meet with their internship coordinator during the semester.

The Entertainment Management track is available to Boston University School of Management students. This track is offered during the spring semester only. Students take a course in entertainment management and one in entertainment law and choose an elective course from the film/TV or advertising/public relations offerings. Concurrently with their courses, students intern at entertainment law firms, publicity management agencies, music production and management agencies, and in studio, talent, television, union and labor management, and sports promotion.

The program also offers two opportunities for college graduates and interested graduate students:
Acting in Hollywood
The Writer in Hollywood
