Admissions

Application Deadline:

Summer Semester: March 1

Admissions Calendar:

Review of applications will begin according to the following timetable.

Requirements:

  • • Minimum GPA: 3.0 (in major and overall)
  • • Previous coursework in anthropology or archaeology is desirable but not required. Arabic language skills are not required.
  • • Students admitted to the program must be able to engage in field work in hot temperatures for significant periods of time.
  • • Open to undergraduate and graduate students.

Program Fee

2009/2010 Tuition and Fees: TBA

Costs for summer 2010 have not yet been announced and will be subject to approval by the Board of Trustees of Boston University. Program cost will include tuition, housing, board, field trips and emergency travel assistance coverage.

Travel
The program arranges a trans-Atlantic group flight that is not included in the program fee. We recommend that students take this flight.

Boston Staff

The Boston University Syria program is administered by staff at Boston University. A program manager manages the admissions and orientation procedures, and maintains contact with students prior to their arrival in Syria. The Boston Office also houses administrative personnel who are responsible for everyday operations.
