Sydney Engineering Program

The Sydney Engineering Program offers upper-division engineering students the opportunity to take technical and engineering courses through direct enrollment at University of Sydney.

Students enrolled in this program will typically choose three technical courses and one course on Australian Culture & Society. Learn more from the Sydney Shout newsletter.

  • Fall Semester: mid July to late November/Early December
    • Depart U.S.: July 14, 2012
    • Program Arrival: July 16, 2012
    • Depart Sydney: December 1, 2012 (or earlier by arrangement)
  • Spring Semester: mid January to early July
    • Depart U.S.: January 16, 2012
    • Program Arrival: January 18, 2012
    • Depart Sydney: July 2, 2012
Cost

The cost for 2013/2014 has not yet been announced and will be subject to approval by the Board of Trustees at Boston University.

Credits
  • Upon successful completion of the program, students earn sixteen Boston University credits. Students must enroll for a total of sixteen credits.
Housing
  • The BU Sydney Academic Center is located in Broadway close to both the University of Sydney and the University of Technology, Sydney. In addition to classroom and office space, the Center houses a computer lab equipped with wireless Internet service and a program library. Student accommodations are located in the BU Sydney Academic Center, and offers easy access to public transportation, Darling Harbour, Chinatown, and the city business district.

Program Staff

All Boston University Sydney programs are administered in coordination with our Boston and Sydney offices. In Boston, a program manager oversees the admissions and pre-departure procedures, and maintains contact with students prior to their arrival in Sydney. The Boston office also houses administrative personnel who are responsible for everyday operations. In Sydney, the staff comprises a resident director and administrative, academic, and housing personnel.
