Summer Semester: May 18th to June 26th, 2010 (August 7th end date for the internship option)
In this intensive six-week interdisciplinary program students live and study in Geneva and London, two world centers of diplomatic activity.
This program introduces students to international conflict resolution in the light of contemporary conflicts and global security concerns. The first half of the program will take place in Geneva, where students will analyze contemporary conflicts and the roles of human rights, religion, foreign intervention, and intercultural communication in conflict resolution. In the second half of the program, students move to London where they will focus on case studies in international conflict resolution, including Northern Ireland, Cyprus, and the Cod Wars. Students also have the option of participating in an internship in London.
Drawing on a senior faculty from Boston University's programs in Geneva and London, the program provides an opportunity for students to live and study in two very different European cities. Classes will be taught at the Boston University Centers in Geneva and London. Upon successful completion of the program, students will earn 8 Boston University credits.
