Spring Semester Only:
February 4th to late June, 2010

Burgos, two hours north of Madrid, is known as a center of Spanish tradition. Home to one of Europe’s most beautiful Gothic cathedrals, it was also an important way station on the Camino de Santiago, and is famous in literature as the birthplace of El Cid. Burgos retains many of the customs of provincial Spanish life to this day.

In the News

Click here to read an article about the program in a local Burgos newspaper Diario de Burgos. (PDF)

The program offers students the opportunity to enroll directly in the University of Burgos (UBU), a modern university centered in a medieval complex of buildings that was once part of the Camino de Santiago. The program will provide an excellent opportunity for students who prefer to live and study in a smaller city where there are very few Americans and very little English spoken.

Upon arrival Burgos students will enroll in an on-site orientation which includes intensive language preparation. Students will enroll in courses offered by other UBU departments, including humanities, business administration, economics, and political science. Upon successful completion of the program, students earn will earn 16 Boston University credits.

Because of the Spanish academic calendar, the Burgos program is available only in the spring semester.
