Renmin University Exchange, Beijing, China

Boston University graduate students have the opportunity to study Chinese governance and foreign relations in English through Renmin University’s Contemporary China Studies Program (CCSP). CCSP resides within the School of International Studies at Renmin University, China’s premier institution for higher learning in the humanities and social sciences.

Since 2006, the Contemporary China Studies Program (CCSP) has offered overseas students the opportunity to study while living in China’s capital city, Beijing. CCSP draws students from all over the world, fostering a unique multidisciplinary and multinational environment in which diverse backgrounds and experiences enhance rigorous academic study.

Participants with advanced Chinese language skills are eligible to enroll in courses through the School of International Studies.  All International Studies courses are taught in Chinese with the exception of the CCSP courses.

Requirements
  • BU graduate students only
  • A foundation in Chinese language is strongly recommended
  • Admissions requirements for all programs
Program Dates
  • Fall Semester: early September to mid January
  • Spring Semester: mid February to late June

Housing
  • Students live in an undergraduate residence hall or off-campus.

Program Staff

The Renmin University Exchange is administered by staff at Boston University. A program manager oversees the admissions and pre-departure procedures, and maintains contact with students prior to their arrival in Beijing. The Boston office also houses administrative personnel who are responsible for everyday operations.
