Now in its twenty-second year, the London Internship Program offers a semester of study and work in England’s exciting capital city. This program combines a professional internship with coursework that examines a particular academic area in the context of Great Britain’s history, culture, and society and its role in modern Europe. Courses in each academic area are taught by selected British faculty exclusively to students enrolled in the Boston University program. Upon successful completion of a semester, students earn 16 Boston University credits.

To see the courses within each track, choose your area of study to be taken to the appropriate area on the London Internship Program Academics page:

The First Five Weeks
(Core Phase)
Students take one core course in their academic area to prepare for their internships, and one elective course. Students also meet with the program’s internship advisors to refine their area of work placement according to ability, professional goals, experience, and work habits.

The Final Eight Weeks
(Placement Phase)
Students participate in London’s work life through assigned internships that complement their particular academic concentration and personal goals. Students work full-time, four days a week, while enrolled in a related, weekly seminar course.

Students interested in being considered for an internship placement with Parliament should apply to the program by September 15 for the spring semester, and by January 15 for the summer, due to a lengthy security clearance procedure.
