The American University of Beirut Exchange is suspended until further notice.

The American University of Beirut (AUB) was founded in 1866 as a private, independent, non-sectarian institution of higher learning and is now a major university with over 7,000 students located on a 73-acre campus overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Program Details

  • Boston University students only
  • The American University of Beirut’s admissions criteria require study abroad students to have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Admissions requirements for all programs
Program Dates
  • Fall Semester: late September to late December
  • Spring Semester: early February to early June
  • Academic Year: late September to early June

Program participants will be notified of any changes to the program calendar.

  • Students will live in AUB residence halls or suitable off-campus housing.
Application Deadlines
  • Fall Semester: March 15
  • Spring Semester: September 15

Review of applications will begin according to the following timetable. Notification of admissions begins after the application deadline.

Program Staff

The AUB Exchange is administered by staff at Boston University. A program manager oversees the admissions and pre-departure procedures, and maintains contact with students prior to their arrival in Beirut. The Boston office also houses administrative personnel who are responsible for everyday operations.
