INFORMATION SESSIONS

Our schedule of Fall 2009 information sessions will start to appear here around the first week of September. We will add information sessions throughout the semester.

Our Latest Events

To see a full listing of our information sessions and other events, please visit the:

Information Calendar

There are various ways to learn more about studying abroad with BU International Programs. These encounters include information tables in the GSULink, individual program sessions with visiting resident directors, and special events at the Howard Thurman Center. Meet with our staff, program managers, and alumni to ask questions and learn what to expect during your semester abroad. In addition to these informative events, we highly encourage students to visit our office for personalized guidance in choosing a program and assistance throughout the application and acceptance process.

GSULink Information Tables
International Programs advisers and program managers will be available in the GSULink throughout the semester to answer general questions about studying abroad as well as specific questions in regard to a particular program. Although it is to your advantage to visit our tables when the program manager from a specific program is available, all our staff can assist you in determining which program is the best fit for your academic, cultural, and pre-professional goals.

Information Sessions
In certain cases, we have scheduled an information session for a specific location, theme, or program. Often, these sessions will feature the program's resident director on visit from abroad. Please visit our Information Calendar to see a list of upcoming information sessions.

NEW! Study Abroad Advising
Join John Aslanian of the International Programs office for an individual advising session about your study abroad options and application process, the experience of living abroad, and how an internship can help your post-collegiate career goals. A sign-up sheet will be available at the Howard Thurman Center, or contact the center at 353-4745 for further information.

NEW! Study Abroad Spring Expo
Join International Programs, The Howard Thurman Center, past study abroad participants, and fellow prospective students for a comprehensive look at all your study abroad options through BU. Come have a snack, take part in a mock internship interview, watch slide shows and videos from abroad, talk to fellow students who have just returned, and find out where you could be studying next semester.

External Programs
BU Students who wish to study abroad with a program not run by Boston University should first visit the External Programs webpage to familiarize oneself with the process. After doing so, students can meet with the Assistant Director for External Programs to discuss program interests, options, and course of action. If unable to meet during the External Programs open office hours, students can set up an appointment or ask questions via email at nonbusa@bu.edu.

If you have any questions, please contact the International Programs office at (617) 353-9888 or via abroad@bu.edu.
