Dresden, Germany

Because Dresden was part of East Germany until the country’s reunification in 1990, it’s not automatically included on people’s “Where I want to study abroad” lists. That’s good news for you if you’re looking for an immersive experience in a charming, historic city that’s off the beaten track.

On all our Dresden Programs, students study at the Technische Universität Dresden (TUD), one of the oldest and most prestigious technical universities in Germany. With a full complement of science and humanities courses, TUD gets high marks from our students for its professors.

Housing is in university dormitories. Students receive room and board stipends, which may be used to buy food at student cafeterias, or students can shop at grocery stores or markets in Dresden and prepare their meals in the dormitory kitchens.

Because of its central location, excursions to the rest of Europe are quite easy.

Dresden Engineering Program

Engineering students have the opportunity to take technical and engineering courses through the Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) for the spring semester.

Dresden Internship Program

After completing the program’s eight-week core phase, students spend the final weeks in internships with organizations in the greater Dresden area, working an average of 30 hours a week while also completing coursework at Technische Universität Dresden.

Students interested in science have the option to spend the fall semester in Dresden, combining science course work in English with the study of German.
