Host to the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, Beijing is the capital of China, and one of the largest cities in the world. The city is a cultural center, and is rich with historical buildings and sites, notably the Forbidden City. Seemingly everywhere you look in Beijing, there is a major building with national historical significance.
BU graduate students in International Relations have the opportunity to study and live at Renmin University, one of the top universities in China, in the Contemporary China Studies Program. Students live in an undergraduate residence hall or off-campus, and the campus is in walking distance to the subway. The Forbidden City is within biking distance of the campus, and the Beijing Zoo is just a few subway stops away.
Renmin University is recognized as an important research institution in the humanities and social sciences in China. BU graduate students have the opportunity to study Chinese governance and foreign relations in English through Renmin University’s Contemporary China Studies Program (CCSP).
