Sue earned a MATESOL degree from Teacher’s College, Columbia University, and a BA in Latin and history from Dickinson College, PA. Sue is a longtime resident of Niamey. She first came to Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer in the 1970s and has now lived in Africa longer than she has lived in the USA. In addition to her duties as Resident Director, Sue helps take care of the chimpanzees at the National Museum and speaks two African languages, French, and Italian.
