Mary McCloskey grew up locally to DCU in Glasnevin. She started out working in the financial sector in Dublin, while undertaking the Banking Certificate and Trustee Diploma at the Institute of Bankers (earning fifth place in Ireland in the latter exams). She then lived in London for a couple of years before moving to the U.S.A. She immediately joined Princeton University and held administrative posts in the Undergraduate Financial Aid office, the Department of Annual Giving, and the Health Professions Advising office over a five-year period. She then returned to live in Dublin. Mary wished to continue her career in the academic sector and welcomed the opportunity of joining Boston University’s Dublin Study Abroad Programs in 2002 as Program Manager. She has since been promoted to the role of Program Director. Participation in the Dublin Programs has increased by almost 300% under Mary’s leadership over the past decade. One of her future goals is to expand the Dublin Program track and course offerings further.
