Lionel Ruffel received his PhD from the Université Toulouse II (France). He is an associate professor of French and comparative literature at Université Paris 8 (Vincennes). A specialist of contemporary literature and theory, he is the author of two essays (Le Dénouement, 2005; Volodine post-exotique, 2007), and more than 20 chapters of books and articles. He is involved in French literary, intellectual and artistic life as a professor, as a scholar, as a publisher, as an essayist, as a literary journalist and as an advisor. Lionel Ruffel has been teaching in the Boston University Paris program since 2005 and was appointed director of academic programs in 2009.
