Dr. Allison Rottmann, a scholar of Modern Chinese History, is currently a Visiting Scholar at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences. She earned a BA with distinction in International Affairs at George Washington University, Master of Arts and PhD degrees in Chinese History at the University of California, Berkeley, and a JD at the Duke University School of Law. She has taught various aspects of Chinese history and culture at UC Berkeley, UC Davis, and Santa Clara University.
