Carol Taaffe holds an MA in modern literature and culture from the University of York, and a PhD in Irish literature from Trinity College Dublin, where she was an IRCHSS Post-Doctoral Fellow. She is the author of Ireland Through the Looking Glass: Flann O’Brien, Myles na gCopaleen and Irish Cultural Debate (Cork UP, 2008) and co-editor of Irish Modernism: Origins, Contexts, Publics (Peter Lang, 2010). Her teaching and research interests are in modern Irish literature, Irish cultural history and literary modernism. She has previously taught in Trinity College Dublin, UCD, and Beijing Foreign Studies University, where she contributed to the first Irish Studies MA Program in China.
